Juvenile Justice: Evaluations used in juvenile justice settings include Rehabilitation Evaluations ( most common), Waiver to Criminal Court (becoming more popular as more children are declared adults for the purpose of prosecution), Risk of Harm to Others, Competence to Proceed and Waiver of Miranda Rights. In Texas a standard Rehabilitation evaluation should include gathering Background Information, a Clinical Interview, Interviews with Parents, Review of Available Records, an IQ test, Achievement Test, Objective Personality Tests, and a Vocational Interest Inventory. A Neuropsychological screening instrument would be a welcome addition and in some cases a Projective Personality instrument may also be desirable. For more information on Juvenile Justice Evaluations see: Grisso, T (1998). Forensic Evaluation of Juveniles. Professional Resource Press: Sarasota, Florida.
